About Bitcoin
Bitcoin (BTC) is the first and largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Created in 2009 by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin operates on a decentralized peer-to-peer network using blockchain technology. It has a fixed supply cap of 21 million coins, making it inherently deflationary.
Bitcoin is often referred to as "digital gold" due to its store-of-value properties. The network processes transactions through proof-of-work mining, with block rewards halving approximately every four years. Bitcoin is traded on hundreds of exchanges worldwide and is increasingly adopted by institutional investors.
